The Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services is seeking a Bachelor's level Milieu Supervisor to work within our new Residential Enhanced Level of Care Program, an 8-bed program for male adolescents ages 12 to 18 years old. Must have flexible schedule and work at least 2 weekends per month. Strong supervisory skills in residential programming are highly preferred.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

  • Ensure efficient functioning of unit including supervision of staff, daily scheduling, structured activities, and following all policies & procedures.
  • Participate in weekend supervisory rotation schedule and willing to work overtime as required.
  • Be visible on unit to provide additional support to both staff and clients
  • Work cohesively and collaboratively with other unit staff to develop positive working relationships.
  • Effectively lead a team following CHOR's Youth & Family Services core values and commitments


Position Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record. (highly preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or any Human Services field. (highly preferred)
  • Associate's degree with at least 1 year experience working with youth. (may be considered)
  • Must past all pre-employment physical & drug screening include background clearances (Child, Criminal, FBI, and DMV)
  • Ability to demonstrate basic oral, written, and verbal communication.
  • Must attend all required trainings followed by shadowing prior to working on the unit.
  • Ability to work effectively among various levels of behaviors and maintain an atmosphere of safety, support, and guidance to ensure a positive environment.


Physical Demands
The employee must have the physical ability to restrain a resident, if needed, while utilizing the tenets of Safe Crisis Management training.
