What You’ll Do

As a Staff Development Specialist, you will:

• Functions with autonomy, flexibility, diplomacy, and professionalism when training.

• Obtains and maintains certifications when required.Ā 

• Attend training programs when assigned.Ā 

• Conducts New Employee Development (NED), specialized training such as Safe Crisis Management (SCM) and other ongoing training as required.Ā 

• Implement training policies and procedures and recommend changes when needed.Ā 

• Fosters a working relationship with employees, supervisors, and administrative staff.Ā 

• Assists with scheduling and notifying employees of training programs.Ā 

• Prepares classrooms for training sessions.Ā 

• Reports attendance to Director of Staff Development.Ā 

• Develop new training programs as necessary, either by working with others to create/upload trainings to Relias or coordinating internal or external speakers.Ā 

• Input and update information into the tracking system as required.Ā 

• Assists with maintaining and auditing employee training files.Ā 

• Travel to regional offices to conduct training or arranges with training staff.Ā 

• Create and distribute communication to employees as required.Ā 

• Participation and members on agency committees as assigned.Ā 

• Work hours include evenings and weekends.Ā 

• Performs other job duties as assigned.Ā

Qualifications

Required:

• Valid driver's license and insured automobile

• Associate's degree or Higher in human services or related field.Ā 

• Experience serving in a training capacity.Ā 

• Experience working with children in a residential capacity preferred

• Bilingual/Spanish Speaking preferred

Schedule

• Full-Time

• Evenings and Weekends included

Physical RequirementsĀ 

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed

• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
