• Assign responsibilities, create timelines and schedule for major projects; monitor project progress and ensure timelines and budgets are met.
• Manage the process and automation engineering departments.
• Assign engineers to manage outside contractor work for CapEx projects.
• Assist and support in the development of new processes and equipment, and documentation of maintenance procedures for the equipment.
• Understand the technical details of company’s processes and communicate with employees in cross-functional departments.
• Propose projects that promote opportunities to improve the accuracy and reliability of existing equipment.
• Collaborate with the Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality and Product Engineering departments on scrap improvement projects aimed at meeting company targets.
• Support manufacturing and maintenance department when required on major breakdowns of equipment.
• Create a working environment that puts a priority on safety.
• Other reporting and duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering plus 8-10 years’ experience in similar position required.• Experience working in a manufacturing environment required.
• Project Management certification, or 5 years’ experience managing Capital projects >$200,000 required.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team of five to six engineers
• Strong process engineering background
• Solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering
• Written and oral communication proficiency.
• Knowledge of safety circuits
