Job DetailsJob Location: Cabot, PA 16023Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: Rotate between day, afternoon and/or midJob Category: QualityApprentice Quality Inspector Penn United Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Apprentice Quality Inspector to join our Stamping department.  This hands-on position combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction through our three-year, in-house certificate program, providing a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in precision manufacturing. provide fully on-site quality assurance services in our Stamping Department.  This person will perform part inspection and documentation in order to achieve 100% quality production, continually improve manufacturing processes, and ensure customer satisfaction. What You’ll Do: Work alongside manufacturing technicians to achieve quality parts that meet or exceed customer requirements Perform inspections and audits of materials and manufacturing processes Use precision inspection equipment including micrometers, indicators, digital height gages, comparators, and other measuring tools Identify and report nonconforming products, placing affected material on hold Create, maintain and file inspection logs and quality documentation Audit manufacturing inspection logs and Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, verifying with product samples Assist with or perform First Article Inspections, Gage R&R studies, Capability Studies and other quality activities Participate fully in the three-year apprenticeship program by attending on-site classes and actively engaging in on-the-job training SHIFTS: must be able to work weekly rotating shifts of daylight, afternoon and midnight schedules QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For: Understanding of blueprint reading and inspection techniques (preferred not required) High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and deadlines Strong reading, comprehension, math and problem-solving skills Visual acuity (20/20 vision or corrective lenses) Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite Able to work well independently and cooperatively with teams Capable of completing applicable training on: Statistics/Statistical Process Control Measurement/inspection equipment Technical Math Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (dependent upon job assignment) Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, able to effectively manage multiple tasks. Strong ability to professionally communicate using both verbal and written skills.
