Mactech is an industry leader in specialty machining, industrial equipment, and custom-engineered solutions used across manufacturing, power generation, shipbuilding, offshore, and heavy industry. We are looking for a motivated Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team in Red Wing, Minnesota.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building, troubleshooting, and working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems while contributing to products used around the world.

What You'll Do

As an Assembly Technician, you will:

  • Build custom wood crates, pallets, skids, and shipping containers for industrial equipment
  • Assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components into new products
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and assembly instructions
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools
  • Perform quality inspections and functional testing on equipment
  • Diagnose defects and assist with repairs and adjustments
  • Support rental equipment maintenance and refurbishment
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Field Service teams
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
  • Perform other duties as needed to support operations

What We're Looking For

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Valid Driver's License or government-issued ID
  • Ability to pass background screening, drug testing, and fit-for-duty requirements

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:

  • Manufacturing or assembly
  • Carpentry or woodworking
  • Mechanical assembly
  • Hydraulics
  • Electrical wiring
  • Industrial maintenance
  • Reading blueprints and technical drawings
  • Hydraulic schematics
  • Electrical schematics
  • Control panel assembly
  • Low-voltage wiring (12V/24V)
  • Multimeters, voltmeters, and electrical testing equipment

Experience with industrial equipment is a plus but not required—we are willing to train motivated individuals.

Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing shop environment
  • Use of woodworking and industrial equipment
  • Required PPE includes:
    • Safety glasses
    • Hearing protection
    • Gloves
    • Steel-toe footwear

No travel is required for this position.
