Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Dispatcher, you will efficiently manage the dispatch of vehicles for the Program's transportation system, ensuring cost-effective and timely services in accordance with all program requirements.Every day you will schedule transportation for clients throughout the service area in a cost-efficient manner. Additionally, you may periodically supervise Transportation Department Staff in the absence of leadership.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, a strong ability to manage logistics and scheduling, and contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of transportation services, all while functioning effectively under direct supervision.

  • Receives incoming transportation calls, provide information and schedules reservations in accordance with Program and transit schedules
  • Records scheduled rides to be issued to drivers and, as appropriate, effectively dispatches vehicles to respond to immediate transit needs
  • Records all dispatching data accurately
  • Assists with Transportation Department record keeping and data entry
  • Complies with all F.C.C. regulations
  • Notifies Meals on Wheels leadership, or designee when a Home Delivered Meal customer does not respond

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Two (2) years experience in dispatching or an equivalent combination of training and experience, 
  • Driver's License: CA
