The Controller will provide leadership in accounting, financial reporting, and the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. They will oversee the accounting functions of the organization including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, gift accounting, budgeting support, financial reporting internally, audit coordination, and accounting systems operations.Â
Hours: This is a full-time position, scheduled for 40 hours per week
Job Requirements
- Leading and developing accounting operations and close cycleÂ
- Ongoing development of internal controls, policies, and proceduresÂ
- Leading development of financial reporting packagesÂ
- Performing ongoing analysis of financial statementsÂ
- Leader of complex accounting transactions, changes, developments and GAAP complianceÂ
- Leading and mentoring team members in personal and professional developmentÂ
- Leading budgeting finalization and ongoing monitoring of results against budget.Â
- Assist in preparation of monthly management reporting and assist CFO with board reporting  Â
- Work with the CFO to maximize efficiency and develop the organizational finance functionsÂ
- Work with the CFO to lead and develop a successful year-end audit.
Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalentÂ
- At least 8-10 years full-cycle accounting experienceÂ
- At least 2-3 years’ audit-assurance experienceÂ
- At least 5 years’ non-profit accounting experienceÂ
- In-depth knowledge of non-profit tax, legal, and complianceÂ
- Advanced understanding of accounting systems and technologyÂ
- Must be able to conduct complex accounting and tax researchÂ
- A problem solver and a critical thinker who enjoys accounting and financeÂ
- An effective leader with a passion for personal developmentÂ
- An individual with an exceptional degree of personal and professional integrityÂ
- Exceptionally organized and good with administrationÂ
- Highly efficient with personal time managementÂ
