General MRO Aerospace (GMA) is a globally recognized FAA 145 Repair Station that specializes in maintenance and repairs of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel and electromechanical aircraft components. We are looking for an experienced, motivated team player and result-driven Appliance Repair Technician to join our team. This role ensures components like aviation ovens, coffee makers, chillers and water heaters meet strict FAA safety and airworthiness standards. Essential Duties:
- Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing faults in aircraft galley appliances.
- Overhaul Components: Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble commercial aviation ovens, espresso machines, and refrigeration units.
- Test Systems: Perform electrical safety testing, insulation resistance checks, and functional run tests.
- Follow Technical Data: Read Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), wiring diagrams, and engineering schematics.
- Replace Parts: Install new heating elements, thermostats, control boards, valves, and wiring harnesses.
- Maintain Compliance: Document all work in compliance with FAA Part 145 regulations.
Requirements
Experience, Skills and Qualification:
Experience:
- Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and CMM technical documentation.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines, manage a large volume of communication and be a team player.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities for moderately complex issues.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills in English. Spanish is a plus.
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, plumbing lines, and basic refrigeration.
- Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision.
Qualification:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in appliance repair, commercial food equipment service, or aircraft electrical component repair.
- FAA Airframe (A) or Repairman Certificate is highly preferred but not required.
