Role Description

The Contents Restoration Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Gaithersburg, MD. This role is responsible for cleaning, deodorizing, and restoring personal and commercial contents damaged by water, smoke, mold, or other contaminants. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting contents, documenting damage, packing and transporting items, performing hands-on cleaning and restoration, and organizing contents in storage and on job sites. The technician will follow established mitigation and safety procedures, operate restoration equipment and tools, and assist with setup and breakdown of job sites. The role also involves communicating professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers, maintaining detailed records of work performed, and supporting other restoration activities as needed.

Qualifications 

  • Experience or training in Water Damage and Water Damage Restoration, with the ability to safely handle affected contents.
  • Knowledge of Mitigation practices, including proper cleaning, drying, and preservation of materials to prevent further damage.
  • Awareness of Invasive Species and contamination risks, with the ability to follow appropriate handling and disposal protocols.
  • Strong Communication skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and customers in a clear, professional manner.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail for accurate documentation, labeling, inventory tracking, and organization of contents.
  • Willingness to work in varying conditions, including wet, dirty, or confined environments, and to follow all safety guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; prior experience in restoration, cleaning, or construction is beneficial.
