Purchasing Specialist - Buyer (MRP Experience)

Job Summary
Experienced Purchasing Specialist with expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), procurement processes, inventory management, and data administration. Skilled in managing purchasing information, analyzing inventory requirements, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support production and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities, including sourcing, supplier negotiations, and purchase order processing.
  • Utilize MRP systems to plan, forecast, and manage material requirements based on production schedules and inventory levels.
  • Maintain and update accurate material, supplier, pricing, and inventory data within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
  • Analyze purchasing and inventory reports to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and planning teams to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.
  • Track supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
  • Resolve purchasing discrepancies, invoice issues, and supplier-related concerns.
  • Generate and maintain reports, records, and documentation related to procurement and inventory activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, purchasing procedures, and quality requirements.
 Qualifications

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and inventory control practices.
  • 5 years of recent purchasing or procurement experience in a distribution,
  • Excellent data management and information accuracy skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Effective communication and supplier relationship management skills.
