Job Description:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and evaluates cleanliness of facilities ensuring quality cleaning standards are maintained.
  • Conducts regular inspections to ensure that custodian cleaning standards meet or exceed expectations and corrects or reinforces proper cleaning methods as necessary.
  • Coordinate and assigns cleaning tasks to custodians based on skills and expertise.
  • Provides guidance to custodial staff.
  • Assists in training new custodial staff on proper cleaning methods and company procedures.
  • Cleans lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and window blinds.
  • Dusts furniture, bookcases, window seals, walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
  • Empties wastebaskets and transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and/or polishes floors.
  • Washes windows, doors, and glass door fronts.
  • Performs light maintenance/repair work on toilets and sinks.
  • Restocks bathroom and cleaning materials.
  • Picks up trash and debris throughout campus.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School diploma or GED. Minimum of 3-5 years industry experience or equivalent experience in a similar industry preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and good decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage accountability while multitasking effectively.
  • Communicate effectively and possess excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a satisfactory work attendance.
  • Ability to work variable work schedules, rotate through multiple stations, and work overtime as assigned.
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.

Work Environment:

  • Stamina to handle extensive walking, pushing, pulling, and stooping.
  • Exceptional hand eye coordination and extremity motor skills.
  • Reading comprehension skills and ability to read small print.
  • Ability to lift 25-50 pounds, practicing safe lifting techniques.
  • Ability to stand for 95% of workdays.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing facilities and regularly be exposed to varying and extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, chemical fumes, sharp metal objects and heavy forklift traffic.
