Pay Range: 110,000 - 120,000/annually / Full-Time

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Controller to oversee all financial operations across our restaurant business. This role is responsible for accounting accuracy, financial reporting, cost control, and operational financial analysis for one or multiple restaurant locations. The ideal candidate has strong restaurant industry experience and can manage fast-paced, high-volume financial environments..
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Maintain internal controls and improve accounting procedures
- Coordinate audits and work with external auditors and tax professionals
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to leadership
- Support cash flow management and financial decision-making
- Analyze financial trends and provide recommendations to ownership/leadership
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Perform in-depth financial analysis of expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff (if applicable)
Skills:
The required skills for this role include strong analytical abilities, which are essential for interpreting financial data and making informed decisions. Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders and collaborate with various departments. Leadership skills are crucial for managing and developing the finance team, ensuring they are equipped to meet the organization's financial goals. Proficiency in financial software enhances efficiency in reporting and analysis, allowing for timely insights.Â
Preferred skills - Advanced Excel capabilities and experience with ERP systems, will further streamline financial processes and improve overall accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in restaurant or hospitality industry
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Strong understanding of restaurant P&L statements and cost controls
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to manage confidential financial information
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience
- Experience in multi-entity or multi-unit restaurant operations
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Experience with QuickBooks, Restaurant365, or similar systems
