As a Manager of Satellite Communication (SATCOM) System Engineers, you will be responsible for leading Customer Terminal (CT) architecture, integration and validation with hardware, software, and firmware. You will work in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team including electrical hardware, antenna, simulation, silicon, algorithm, firmware, and software engineers.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities include:
• Lead a team of talented engineers, provide mentorship and career growth opportunity
• Develop the CT architecture by working closely with sub-system engineers in electrical, RF, antenna, thermal, modem, DSP, ASIC, algorithm, firmware, modeling, and software
• Develop the validation plans, build the validation infrastructure, execute testing, analyze data, and report the results to the stakeholders
• Investigate and resolve validation failures by leading cross-functional teams
• Ensure the delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory, and business requirements
• Perform in-field and on-orbit validation with satellites
• Travel up to 10% of the time, depending on project phases

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.



A day in the life
As a Manager of SATCOM System Engineers on the Amazon Leo Customer Terminal Team, you will work daily with electrical hardware, RF, antenna, silicon, and product design engineers, as well as software and operations teams in a collaborative environment. Your focus will be on architecting, integrating, and verifying customer terminal functional performance to ensure it delights our customers.

About the team
The Leo Customer Terminal team is responsible for developing both outdoor & indoor devices, enabling customers internet service via the Leo satellite network. We own the entire process from early prototypes through mass production including requirements documents, architecture definition, hardware development, and all integration/verification testing. Basic Qualifications: - Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or other relevant engineering discipline
- 7+ years of satellite terminal development, integration, and validation experience
- Experience leading an engineering team
- Experience with communication systems, RF, and antenna
- Experience in MATLAB, Python or C++
- Experience with test instruments such as spectrum analyzer, vector signal analyzers, channel emulators, and GNSS emulators Preferred Qualifications: - Master or PhD degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline
- Knowledge of digital communication systems, error correction, synchronization, spread spectrum, single and multi-carrier techniques, and modulation types such as QPSK, APSK, and QAM
- Understanding of free space communication and satellite link budget principals in K band
- Experience in developing simulation and modeling tools
- Strong expertise in statistical methods, data analytics, and measurement data post-processing to characterize system performance
- Familiarity with active and passive RF components, beamforming circuits, electromagnetic propagation
- Satellite over-the-air Communication field-trial experience
- Experience working with mobility satellite terminals such as maritime and aeronautical
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
