As a Radiation Effects Engineer, you will join a small team focused on the qualification of electronics components used on a satellites constellation and take an active role in root-cause analysis of on-orbit events. Your day-to-day work will include collaborating with design engineers to coordinate radiation testing and drive mitigation strategies of common error modes, analyzing satellite enclosures for TID robustness, and review on-orbit data to determine root-cause of common errors.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
- Define, collect, and analyze heavy ion, proton, and TID testing to qualify components against space radiation and build a radiation tested component database.
- Develop processes for managing component and satellite hardware test results and documentation
- Collaborate closely with electronic design teams to quantify radiation risk and develop mitigations schemes to radiation events.
- Lead root-cause analysis of on-orbit radiation events. Develop tools and dashboards to organize and visualize on-orbit events.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in avionics development including electronic component selection and radiation test
- Hands-on experience conducting radiation test campaigns using heavy ion and proton beam facilities for SEE characterization, and gamma ray sources (e.g., Co-60) for TID testing
- Experience with including evaluating Single Event Effects (SEE) and Total Ionizing Dose (TID) on electronic components and systems. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience in radiation effects testing for Total Ionizing Dose (TID) and Single Event Effects (SEE)
- Experience with NASA, Defense or Commercial Space programs
- Experience with particle transport tools such as FastRAD, NOVICE or GEANT4
- Knowledge of radiation modeling tools such as Ax8/Ax9, CREME96, and SPENVIS
- Knowledge of AWS tools such as S3 and DynamoDB

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
