Responsibilities
- Defining static and dynamic design loads for the team for all subsystems through detailed investigation and study of anticipated use-cases
- Instrumenting robots, collecting data, and processing to determine peak shock and vibration forces
- Sustaining engineering: Troubleshooting root-cause of mechanical failures, implementing improved designs, testing effectiveness of change
- Designing test plans to simulate loads at a component and sub-system level on a vibration/shock table
- Helping build a test & measurement internal team
- Collaborate closely with reliability team to implement best practices for high-reliability mechanical and electrical design
- Designing test protocols, fixtures, and custom built equipment to conduct high load tests
- Build subsystem test fixtures, design tests, create test plans, perform tests, measure and analyze data, and refine design assumptions
- Collaboration: Work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers (EE, SW, Firmware) to deliver complete technical solutions
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years experience in Mechanical Design Engineering and with experience in mechanical engineering design for harsh environments, and test and measurement
- BS degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience with shock and vibration measurement and analysis
- Experience in test fixture design
- Experience with SOLIDWORKS, Siemens NX or similar CAD tools
- Experience with prototyping manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience managing time-sensitive projects through to completion while balancing evolving priorities and a broad range of stakeholders
- Experience in tolerance analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - Static structural analysis, modal analysis

- Experience in Robotics and consumer electronic product design
- Experience driving and leading projects from cradle to grave
$144,000/year to $204,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
