In this role as Senior Software Engineer, you will design and implement SAP Material Master Data Governance solutions that power the cloud supply chain operations of Microsoft’s Azure cloud data centers and deliver capabilities that support Microsoft’s rapidly evolving business landscape. You’ll build governance frameworks and work across the SAP ecosystem with a focus on automation, standardization, and reusability while exploring innovative SAP–Azure integrations, advancing solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Application Insights, and adopting AI‑driven capabilities. Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in the requirements‑gathering process; guide discussions by representing what standard functionality exists.
- Review and sign-off business requirements in the form of Features and User Stories.
- Design and lead the E2E technical architecture and solution, engaging with the various architecture teams and considering established best practices.
- Configure and develop SAP master data solutions as per business needs.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical objects focusing on workflows, UI modeling, data replication, and custom ABAP programming to ensure high-quality, governable master data.
- Lead and implement end-to-end MDG implementations and/or S/4 HANA upgrade projects.
- Contribute to a healthy team dynamic within the construct of a Feature team.
- Apply experience, insight, and good judgment to solving challenging technical business problems.
- Develop instrumentation and process telemetry to ensure SAP solutions are stable, scalable, and extensible.
- Contribute to the automation toolset to enable world‑class Modern Engineering.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- 8 years of hands‑on experience in SAP MDG technical development and customization/configuration on large‑scale implementation projects for enterprise businesses.
- Expertise in implementing Material Master Data SAP MDG‑M solutions.
- Expertise in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), SAP S/4HANA, and ABAP development.
- Expertise in developing custom ABAP Objects, BADIs, Enhancements, CDS Views, AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures), OData Services, and APIs.
- Experience working with geographically diverse groups.
- Experience with a variety of SDLC methodologies, specifically Waterfall project execution and SCRUM/Agile approaches.
- Enterprise IT experience, preferably with ERP packages.
- Awareness of Azure integration technologies and cloud architecture.Â
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
