Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Design Integration Electrical Engineer - Level 3/4 to join the Vehicle Engineering Directorate within Western Region Engineering. In this role, you will support spacecraft, and/or payload electrical integration tasks. This position is located onsite in Redondo Beach, CA.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Electrical systems requirements development & analysis Â
- System, subsystem, and unit-to-unit electrical block diagram generationÂ
- Power and command & telemetry hardware resource management and allocationÂ
- Electrical Connectivity development for spacecraft harness designÂ
- Fusing, signal integrity, and electrical interface compatibility analysisÂ
- Cable & Harness DesignÂ
- Provide feedback regarding impacts of possible cost and/ or schedule changesÂ
- Work and execute independently with some technical oversightÂ
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practicesÂ
- Provide support to Manufacturing and Spacecraft Assembly and TestÂ
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications for Design Integration Electrical Engineer - Level 3:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in STEM with 1 year of relevant experience
- Must have active SCI access at the time of application or an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company, prior to the start date
- Experience with aerospace hardware design and integration
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting of components and equipment
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in STEM with 4 years of relevant experience
- Must have active SCI access at the time of application or an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company, prior to the start date
- Experience with aerospace hardware design and integration
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting of components and equipment
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Spacecraft and/or payload electrical design integration, cable & harness design, and/or command & telemetry database development background with experience through the entire system lifecycle from concept, design, production, integration, test, launch, to operation support
- Demonstrated multidisciplinary skillset with the ability to work with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines
- Understanding of electrical interface standards such as MIL-STD-1553, LVDS, RS-422, etc.Â
- Previous experience with software tools such as PSPICE, MATLAB, Mentor Graphics, Routed Systems Design (RSD), HarneSys, CATIA V5, NX, Siemens Capital, Microsoft Access, VisioÂ
