Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions has an opening for a Gear Shop 2 in Brier Hill, PA!

Sandvik Mining (SMR) a business area within the Sandvik Group and a global leading supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries, currently has an opening for a Gear Shop 21 at the Brier Hill, PA location.

As Gear Shop 2, you will be responsible for the disassembly, inspection, ordering of material, assemble, and testing the gear boxes from Sandvik equipment.

The candidate will also be expected to train Gear shop 1 tech as requested.

The workshop services the aftermarket for the geographical area. This role will interact with a supervisor as well as a peer group, and in addition, customers and various technical services personnel will work with the group.
 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repair and replaces parts, following instructions and technical equipment manuals.
  • Interpret basic mechanical designs and maintenance manuals, assembling and dismantling to make necessary alignments and adjustments.
  • Perform maintenance tasks independently and verify task results and tracks operating equipment to detect possible problems.
  • Report and document executed work according to relevant procedures and work instructions.
  • Basic customer communication – can explain basic operating procedures and refer to responsible/relevant person.
  • Give feedback to line manager/team leader with regards to equipment maintenance and service challenges.
  • Limited guidance to level 1/trainees.
  • Ensure that all work procedures (utilizing the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.
  • Prepare and execute all activities in line with SHEQ rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including addressing anomalies to others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience with industry specific equipment
  • Technical certification/diploma in mechanical or electrical discapline

Preferred qualifications:

  • Effective customer relations
  • Active listening skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
