Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Lab Tech Professional, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment.Every day, you will expertly conduct waived and moderate procedures using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.To be successful in this role, you will possess comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles across various disciplines (microbiology, hematology, chemistry, etc.), understand sample processing and result interpretation, prioritize chemical and biological safety, and be adept at operating and maintaining lab equipment.- Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously. Refers to each individual by name when appropriate. Screens individuals by requesting to see identification or visitor pass.
- Independently perform venous, arterial and capillary punctures.
- Willingness to actively participate in continue education, competency tests, and attends inservice training seminars to update knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge and operation of the Laboratory (LIS) and the Hospital (HIS) computer system. This includes validating, recording and reporting tests results via phone, computer entry, and instrument verification protocol in a timely manner.
- Follow written or oral instructions. Accept responsibility and work with minimal supervision.
- Recognizes and prioritizes tasks appropriately. Respond to emergencies, adapt to changing situations and cope with stress in a professional manner.
Job Requirements
Required- High School GED, upon hire or
- High School Graduate, upon hire
- One year of full-time clinical hospital laboratory phlebotomy experience (including venous, arterial and capillary puncture techniques) within the last two years.
- Phlebotomist: CA, upon hire
- Two years laboratory experience
