Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Commercial Analytics Manager to join our diagnostics team. This individual will be responsible for delivering field-facing analytics, developing insights that drive commercial effectiveness, and enabling data-driven decision-making across sales, marketing, and customer engagement functions. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with business analytics, business intelligence (BI) tools, and commercial reporting in the healthcare or diagnostics industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and delivery of field-facing reporting and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker).
Partner with sales, marketing, and commercial leadership to define key performance metrics, monitor performance, and highlight actionable insights.
Develop territory- and account-level analytics to support sales strategy, resource allocation, and incentive design.
Conduct ad hoc analysis on sales performance, customer segmentation, and market opportunities to support commercial planning.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and scalability of commercial reporting through data governance and process automation.
Translate complex data into clear, concise insights that inform field strategy and executive decision-making.
Collaborate with IT, data engineering, and other cross-functional teams to improve data accessibility and integration across platforms.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve business processes and field efficiency through advanced analytics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in business analytics, ideally within healthcare, life sciences, or diagnostics.
Proven expertise in business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in SQL, Excel, and data modeling.
Solid understanding of commercial field operations (sales force, marketing, customer engagement) in diagnostics or healthcare.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders by presenting complex insights in a compelling and understandable manner.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce or Veeva).
Proficient with data wrangling and queries using data lakes and tables.
Knowledge of diagnostics industry commercial models and customer dynamics.
Familiarity with forecasting and business modeling
Exposure to advanced analytics (predictive modeling, machine learning, or statistical methods).
Hybrid Work Model:This section is applicable to onsite employees who are eligible for hybrid work location as specified by management and related policies. Guardant has defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment.
