Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Oncologist and Hematologist to join our multidisciplinary oncology team in Sussex County Delaware. The ideal candidate will specialize in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with cancer and blood disorders. This role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize treatment outcomes for patients.



Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients’ medical histories and perform physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat cancers and hematologic conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, anemia, and clotting disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, including blood work, bone marrow biopsies, and imaging studies.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary.
  • Provide supportive care and symptom management throughout the treatment process.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Participate in clinical trials and stay current with advancements in oncology and hematology.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.


Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

Competencies Skills
