The Position:
We are recruiting for a full time Weatherization Field Tech to assist with carrying out weatherization policies with minimum supervision. Primarily outdoor work is performed, to include contact with all levels of employee and clients. General carpentry skills recommended.
Minimum GED, High School Diploma preferred
Hiring Range- 15.96-16.80

Job Purpose
Responsible for performing day-to-day work in the Weatherization Program.
Specific Requirements
Knowledge: General knowledge in Carpentry or related field.
Leadership: N/A
Supervisory: N/A
Language: English
Guidelines: Agency policies and procedures; comply with Weatherization contracts and grants.
Complexity: Moderately complex.
Scope: Promote and develop the organization.
Environment: Work is performed inside and outside of homes.
Contacts: Employees at all levels and clients.
Physical: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
Travel: Extended time and travel; must have reliable automobile, liability insurance, and a valid driver’s license; 7-year MVR required.
Other: Safety conscious; Drug-Free workplace.
General Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Two years of experience in Carpentry or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Good communication and organizational skills.
Specific Responsibilities
- Carry out assigned duties according to agency weatherization policies.
- Comply with all weatherization program grants, awards, contracts, and agreements.
- Attend agency and weatherization meetings, workshops, training, seminars, and other activities.
- Learn to perform duties according to GEFA and OSHA Safety Training.
- Learn to perform weatherization work on site-built and mobile homes.
- Learn safety procedures for all weatherization tools and equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders, work on roofs, crawl through attics, etc.
- Work in environments where insect bites may occur.
- Work with blown insulation and fiberglass insulation.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws.
- Learn to use weatherization tools to analyze homes.
- Perform computer data entry as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
