Role
We are seeking an Analyst, FP&A to join our Finance team. In this role, you will support the Thacker Pass operation & Corporate FP&A department, through performing high‑quality managerial accounting, financial analysis, and business partnership. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate site‑level financial reporting, supporting operational decision‑making, and strengthening financial processes as the project advances. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission‑driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the clean energy sector.
The role is initially based at our Reno, Nevada office and will initially report to the Manager, FP&A, potentially transitioning to reporting to the Finance Manager, Thacker Pass as the site organization evolves. Frequent travel to Winnemucca, Nevada office and occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis for the Thacker Pass operationÂ
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, operational KPIs, and financial performance metricsÂ
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Corporate FinanceÂ
- Partner with site operations teams to provide financial insights that support day‑to‑day and strategic decision‑makingÂ
- Maintain accurate cost accounting records, inventory tracking, and capital project reportingÂ
- Contribute to the development and documentation of internal controls, supporting SOX compliance effortsÂ
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial accuracy, efficiency, and transparencyÂ
- Builds and maintains trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and ValuesÂ
- Perform other duties as assignedÂ
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldÂ
- 2–3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related rolesÂ
- CPA or CMA designation (or progress toward one) is an assetÂ
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational dataÂ
- Solid understanding of managerial accounting concepts and financial reportingÂ
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both finance and operations teamsÂ
- Proficiency with Excel and financial systems; experience with ERP systems is an advantageÂ
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑throughÂ
