Summary:

A machine Operator covers the following specialized equipment and/or operations:

  1. CNC Lathes
  2. CNC Mills
  3. Punch Presses


Machine Operator 3 can tend to and feed materials into a machine and make necessary measurements to verify part quality. Machine operator 3 can complete changeovers unassisted. A Machine operator can read part drawings, take detailed measurements, and modify programs on machines using manual programming or programming software (Camworks). 

 

Primary Responsibilities (essential functions): 

  • Ability to independently follow safety procedures 
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and visual work instructions
  • Operate equipment with no additional support
  • Able to maintain product throughput requirements
  • Perform basic machine maintenance on equipment
  • Ability to program CNC equipment
  • Ability to train others on the basic operation of equipment
  • Able to work with Manufacturing Engineering on parts drawings


Secondary Responsibilities (marginal functions):

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Ability to recommend process improvements
  • Ability to maintain a clean work area

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent work Experience
  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours in a shift
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion using arms, hands, and wrists. 
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to consistently lift up to 25lbs independently
  • Must be able to team lift up to 100lbs
