Eaton’s GEIS (Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions) division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 1st Shift to join the team. This is an onsite role based at the Reno, NV manufacturing facility. Relocaton assistance will be provided for candidates residing outside of a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV!


The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

What you’ll do:

Essential Functions:
 

  • Operations Leadership: Conduct Daily Visual Management and lead daily tier meetings focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost/productivity, and inventory. Oversee all shift operations, serving as the primary point of leadership and accountability. Supervise production activities to support safety, productivity, and facility efficiency during shift hours. Monitor employee work requirements to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Production Planning: Develop and establish manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule. Meet operating budgets and complete continuous improvement plans.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize lean manufacturing tools to reduce operational costs, inventory, and lead times. Ensure alignment with long-term manufacturing strategies. Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring standardized work processes are followed. Implement countermeasures where necessary.
  • Safety and Quality: Enforce and implement safety policies and programs. Monitor control plans and troubleshoot workmanship issues. Ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements.
  • Team Development and Performance Management: Ensure assigned personnel have the appropriate training, work instructions, and tools to perform successfully. Build organizational capabilities within the team, including technical and leadership competencies. Coach employees on behavior and performance issues. Initiate disciplinary actions when required.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing/operations experience
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • 3+ years of related experience including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope, and complexity in a manufacturing environment.
  • SAP business system experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of lean principles and manufacturing processes.
