Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician role provides the opportunity to join an innovative team in a high growth company. This position will play a critical role in our operations by providing quality maintenance support to maximize machine availability and uptime across various production teams. Our mindset is composed of three key points we follow: Safety, Quality of Work and Urgency. You will apply your technical skills with troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment, electronic troubleshooting, automated PLC’s, robotics and other machinery used to support production operations. Additionally, you will develop valuable skills with the opportunity to grow your career. 

 

Responsibilities Will Include: 

  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic, preventive, and corrective maintenance for Redwood’s production facilities, minimizing equipment downtime. 
  • Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify and address potential issues. 
  • Complete electromechanical component repair and replacement. 
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electromechanical problems promptly. 
  • Participate in safety audits and investigations, implementing corrective actions as needed. 
  • Higher-level tech position 
  • Collaborate in planning and scheduling maintenance with maintenance planners, maintenance supervisors, and maintenance managers. 
  • Manage equipment maintenance across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems. 
  • Work in a team environment with a mentality of Safety, Quality of Work and Urgency. 
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems, including motors and PLCs. 
  • Maintain daily production records, key performance indicators, and downtime information. 
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Production, Engineering, EHS, and Operations. 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • High school Diploma or Equivalent. Associates degree, Trade School, and/or Military technical highly preferred. 
  • Extensive technical expertise in troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and process improvement. 
  • Hands-on experience disassembling and reassembling complex mechanical systems. 
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings. 
  • Background in heavy commercial equipment, including conveyors, pump rebuilds, rigging, machine installations, and alignments strongly preferred. 
  • Experience in troubleshooting both AC and DC electrical systems, as well as proficiency in motion control, motors, pneumatics, sensors, PLCs, and hydraulics. 
  • Familiarity with 480 VAC and lower voltages, including wiring electrical cabinets. 
  • Understanding of NEC codes and NFPA 70E practices. 
  • Proficient in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). 
  • Capability to work in challenging conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, confined space, and temperature extremes for extended periods in full PPE suits and head covers. 
  • Knowledge and proper use of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, fitted masks, PAPR, Tyvek suit, safety shoes, and other personal protective equipment when necessary. 
  • Physical ability to stand, lift, and carry equipment up to 50 lbs. 
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment, adhering to company policies and industry standards.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
