How you'll make an impact: MRP is searching for a passionate and agile Baler Operator who consider themselves problem-solvers and are excited by challenges and the opportunity to build something great with us. As Baler Operator in the Warehouse Department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining balers used in recycling or manufacturing facilities. Your primary duty will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of balers to process materials for recycling or disposal. What’s in it for YOU? Operate balers to compress and package recyclable materials or waste into compact bales. Monitor baler operations to ensure smooth functioning, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during the process. Operating a forklift, loading materials into the baler, ensuring proper positioning and distribution to achieve optimal compression. Perform routine maintenance on baler equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed. Report any mechanical issues to maintenance personnel for repairs. Ensure that bales meet quality standards, including weight, size, and compactness, and adjust as necessary to achieve desired specifications. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Follow proper procedures for lockout/tagout, equipment shutdown, and emergency response. Maintain records of production output, equipment maintenance, and any incidents or safety violations that occur during operations. Collaborate with other team members, including supervisors, maintenance staff, and quality control personnel, to achieve production targets and ensure efficient workflow. Follow all safety policies of the organization and actively participate in various safety programs and initiatives. Follow all GMP requirements aligned with the organizations ISO certifications of ISO9001, 14001 and 22001. Follow all the organization’s policies as laid out in the Employee Handbook. Attending ongoing in-house quality, safety, and organizational required education and training. Perform other duties as required.     QualificationsWhat does it take to be successful in this role? Basic Requirements Must have knowledge of operating a forklift. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to equipment operation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality output. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.   Preferred Requirements We value diverse experiences and perspectives—they help us innovate every day. While these qualifications are preferred, they’re not required: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Previous experience operating balers or similar industrial machinery preferred. The physical requirements and work environment:  Physical Demands Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift). Lifting/Carrying: Regularly lift and move materials up to 30 lbs. Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands and arms for machine operation and material handling. Visual/Manual Requirements: Ability to read gauges, measure materials, and perform quality checks.   Environmental Conditions Temperature: Work performed in a manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature variations. Noise Level: Exposure to moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection provided. Safety Gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe shoes required. Other Factors: Occasional exposure to dust, ink, or chemicals used in production. Schedule & Work Hours This is a full-time, on-site position on 2nd shift working 2pm-10pm Monday through Friday. Please note changes in manufacturing needs and schedules may necessitate a change to the original agreed upon hours, or the working of additional, overtime hours.
