Position Summary

The Controller is a key finance leader responsible for the integrity of the Company's financial reporting, accounting operations, treasury activities, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. As the senior accounting leader, the Controller ensures that the financial infrastructure, processes, and team capabilities effectively support the Company's continued growth and strategic objectives.

The Controller serves as a trusted business partner to the CFO and operating site leadership, providing financial stewardship, strengthening internal controls, driving process improvements, and developing organizational capability across the accounting function. The role is responsible for building a scalable accounting organization while ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and continuity of critical finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Stewardship

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and consolidation.
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. and Japan GAAP and Sekisui corporate accounting policies.
  • Oversee accounting for inventory, fixed assets, leases, and other significant financial matters.

Treasury & Working Capital

  • Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Support banking relationships, financing arrangements, and debt covenant compliance.
  • Drive working capital improvements and cash optimization initiatives.

Controls, Compliance & Risk

  • Maintain a strong internal control environment in accordance with Sekisui Corp controls framework.
  • Coordinate external audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Oversee accounting-related compliance, tax support activities, and insurance renewal coordination.
  • Support government contracting compliance and financial governance requirements.

Finance Operations & Systems

  • Establish scalable accounting processes and standardization across the organization.
  • Govern accounting-related ERP and financial system controls.
  • Lead process improvement, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting organization.
  • Establish cross-training and succession plans to reduce key-person dependencies.
  • Build organizational capability to support future business growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
  • Manufacturing experience required; aerospace, defense, or government contracting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, controls, treasury, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, improving processes, and supporting organizational growth.

Working Conditions

While performing typical duties of this job, production employees will experience the conditions noted below.  PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment.

  • Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature-controlled.
  • Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment.
  • Exposure to contaminants.
  • Shared workspaces with other employees.
  • Requires handing objects of up to 15 lbs.

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee’s position and exposure.  Below are typical PPE used on the production floor.  Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor.

 Pay

SEKISUI Aerospace is required by Washington law to include the pay for this role when hiring a Washington resident. Pay may be higher or lower for non-resident WA employees, based on the market data for their region, allowing us to pay employees competitively in different geographic markets.
