Description

We are seeking a dynamic individual to manage a high-performing team within our organization. The Data Science Manager provides operational leadership for the Financial Insights & AI Solutions team within Corporate FP&A.

As the Data Science Manager, you will work with a team to develop and deploy advanced analytical models and AI solutions across Finance & Business Operations. You will be a key contributor, collaborating closely with domain experts and stakeholders to ensure our projects are technically sound, strategically aligned, and deliver measurable value.  This role focuses on aligning team capacity, delivery execution, and prioritization to the F&BO Roadmap and current business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • People Leadership
    • Directly manage Data Science team members, including goal setting, performance management, coaching, and career development.
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
    • Support talent development by identifying skill gaps and partnering with Corporate FP&A leadership on training and growth opportunities.
  • Model Development:
    • Oversee and support the development of predictive models and data-driven insights for a variety of mission-critical applications. 
    • Provide support across our business initiatives focusing on: Decision Intelligence, Predictive Analysis & Operations Automation
    • Engage in continuous learning and development, staying current with the latest advances in AI/ML and data science to ensure fit-for-purpose and impactful approaches.
  • Delivery & Resource Management
    • Partner with the Business Insights & AI Solutions Director and Data Analytics Manager to ensure commitments are met and tasking aligns with business priorities
    • Monitor delivery progress, risks, and dependencies
    • Collaborate with a team of other applied scientists, data analysts, and financial professionals to apply predictive models and automation solutions
  • Roadmap Execution & Prioritization
    • Support prioritization and execution of the F&BO Analytics & AI Roadmap
    • Partner with the Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO)
    • Balance short-term delivery needs with longer-term capability development.
  • Operating Model & Change Enablement
    • Partner with the Business Insights & AI Solutions Director and the Enablement & Change Lead to support Organizational Change Management (OCM) activities.
    • Help drive adoption of analytics and AI solutions through effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and enablement.
    • Reinforce standard processes, governance, and best practices across the CoE.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Leadership Engagement
    • Communicate complex analytical findings, outcomes, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive decision-making.
    • Develop and present leadership briefings, including delivery status, capacity, risks, and outcomes.
    • Communicate clearly with business stakeholders to align expectations and ensure shared understanding of priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or a related discipline with 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Prior experience managing a team or project.
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or R and deep experience with common data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of Leidos financial data structures and processes
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data science and machine learning platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure ML).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Generative AI technologies and their applications, including Large Language Models (LLMs).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
