Description


Position Summary:


The Deputy Program Manager supports the Program Manager in leading delivery of the entire program and acts with full authority in the PM's absence. You will help direct the multi-team Agile organization, own key program functions (risk, staffing, reporting, governance), and ensure cost, schedule, quality, and contractual performance across all workstreams.


Key Responsibilities:


- Support and deputize for the Program Manager across all program workstreams

- Help direct a matrixed organization spanning development, security, data, and DevSecOps teams

- Own assigned program functions: risk, staffing, governance, and delivery reporting

- Manage cross-workstream dependencies, risks, and issues with mitigation plans

- Support client stakeholder engagement, the COR, and contracting officers

- Help lead staffing ramp: hiring, onboarding, badging, and subcontractor management

- Ensure contract compliance, deliverable acceptance, and responsiveness to client direction

- Champion AI-augmented delivery practices across the program

Requirements

 

Non-Technical Requirements:


- Must be a U.S. Citizen.

- Must be willing to work a HYRBID Schedule (1-2 Days) in Reston, VA & client locations in the Washington D.C. area as required.

- Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance

- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Must be able to prioritize and self-start.

- Must be adaptable/flexible as priorities shift.

- Must be enthusiastic and have passion for learning and constant improvement.

- Must be open to collaboration, feedback and client asks.

- Must enjoy working with a vibrant team of outgoing personalities. 


Required Qualifications:


- Active PMP certification

- 8+ years of program/project management experience, including federal IT

- Experience deputizing for or supporting a PM on large programs

- Strong leadership, financial, and stakeholder-management skills


Preferred Qualifications:


- PgMP or SAFe certification

- Financial-regulatory or filing-systems domain experience

- EVM/financial management and AI-augmented delivery tooling
