We are looking for a full-time Tier 1-Tier 2 Windows Desktop and System engineer who can be part of a growing team and a vibrant culture. This job will involve going on-site to various client locations (50-75%) and the rest work from Reston office. All onsite visits are pre-scheduled well in advance.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and configure laptops and workstations for new hires and provide basic onboarding support on various common applications like Office, Slack etc.
  • Manage day-to-day support requests for end users on Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft 365, environment through Chat, Email & Phone remote support, and documenting the issue in the ticketing system.
  • Assist and/or manage tasks involving maintenance and enhancements of existing systems or implementation of new functionality of backend infrastructure that includes Windows servers, backups systems, email and database servers, file servers and other enterprise applications.
  • Make field trips to client locations during business hours to identify root cause, troubleshoot system issues, and work with the core team in resolving them (Mostly Tier 1.5- Tier 2 level support)
  • Assist and/or manage tasks involving maintenance and enhancements of existing systems or implementation of new functionality of backend infrastructure that includes Windows servers, backup systems, email and database servers, file servers, and other enterprise applications
  • Assist in the provision, image, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of system hardware and software.
  • Interact with clients directly, help explain technical issues in simplistic terms and build a trust and rapport with clients
  • Inventory boxing and shipping of equipment

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience with troubleshooting issues with Microsoft OS -- Windows 10/Mac OS, and also experienced with centralized Patch Management of Operating Systems.
  • At least 2 year experience in working with Windows environment (Windows 2012 R2, Windows 2016 and Windows 2019), including Active Directory Services, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols.
  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting Firewalls, Managed Switches and Network and Standalone printers is a plus
  • Good understanding of networking principles and ability to troubleshoot networking issues using 7 layers of the OSI model.
  • An appropriate Degree/Certification/Course may be considered as equivalent to experience requirements.
  • Should have a means of transportation to be able to get around in NOVA area without relying on public transportation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to directly interact with client from various domains
