Summary 

As a Web Developer II, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our digital presence and ensuring a seamless user experience across our web platforms. Your primary focus will be on developing, testing, and maintaining web applications that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders. 

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope. You will also troubleshoot and resolve issues while maintaining performance, reliability, and security. Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact our business services by improving client engagement and delivering effective, high-quality web solutions. 

This hybrid position will be primarily remote for candidates in the local DC/Maryland/Virginia area. Initial training will take place onsite in Reston, VA, and mandatory meetings will be required onsite at our Reston offices.

Responsibilities 

 

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using established programming languages, frameworks, and development standards.
  • Perform thorough testing of new code, features, enhancements, and bug fixes to ensure functionality, reliability, and quality.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to ensure performance, responsiveness, stability, and security.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established development, source-control, testing, and deployment practices.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, development practices, and industry trends to continuously improve application development and testing practices.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience writing complex T-SQL, stored procedures, and optimizing SQL Server queries.
  • Experience using Postman, Swagger, and SoapUI for REST and SOAP API testing.
  • Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

 

Minimum Qualifications 

 

  • 3+ years of professional web/software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience developing applications using C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server/T-SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience maintaining or supporting Classic ASP applications.
  • Experience with Git-based source control.
  • Strong understanding of responsive web development, application security, debugging, testing, and web development best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum & Waterfall development environments.
