Our Academic Director is the key designer, leadership member, manager, and leader of the academic department, and is responsible for the supervision of all academic staff and faculty. We are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about promoting academic performance while the students work on their mental wellness and providing support to the teachers, students, and their families.

 

Chrysalis is looking for someone to lead a team in creating a positive impact on lives, using the beautiful Montana outdoors as our classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage high-quality academic programs
  • Supervise teachers and academic coordinator effectively
  • Teach courses as needed
  • Obtain and manage each students academic information upon enrolling, duration of students stay and after discharge.
  • Manage official transcripts, progress reports, and report cards
  • Advise students on issues such a course selection, progress toward graduation and career decisions.
  • Meet with students whose classroom behavior requires disciplinary action in conjunction with therapists.
  • Represent Chrysalis at community events and in meetings with Administration
  • Oversee the accreditation and licensing process with the state of Montana and other agencies.
  • Work with teachers to develop curricula and recommended curricula revisions.
  • Create student schedules
  • Oversee facilities management for the Academic department, including cleanliness, repair, and maintenance projects.

Qualifications

  • Valid Montana teaching license
  • Master’s degree in a related field required; Special Education certification preferred
  • Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in a related field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to remain flexible and collaborative in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based systems
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen in accordance with Montana state laws
  • Ability to successfully complete federal and state background checks
  • Valid Montana driver’s license, or ability to obtain one upon hire
