OPERATIONS LEAD – FIELD SUPERVISOR (Reno, NV)
Teklus Construction | Full-Time | $75,000–$80,000/year | In-Person

Teklus Construction, a Reno-based, Veteran-Owned & Veteran-Operated general contractor, is hiring an Operations Lead to run day-to-day field operations for our Dugout Operations support team. This is a hands-on, working supervisor role — you'll direct crew activity, manage client and trade-partner access requests, and serve as the frontline link between the crew and the Operations Superintendent.

WHY THIS ROLE
- Direct leadership of a field crew with real authority: task assignment, sequencing, stop-work decisions
- Clear path to grow supervisory and safety credentials (Competent Person designations, equipment certifications)
- Shift differential pay available for 2nd and 3rd shift
- Full benefits: 401(k), medical/dental/vision, life insurance, PTO

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Crew & Field Leadership
- Direct daily tarping and door-opening activities at the crew level — task assignment, sequencing, and pace management
- Deploy and coordinate support teams to fulfill client and trade-partner access requests
- Verify proper tarp installation, roll-up, and re-tarping procedures per project and manufacturer requirements
- Confirm access doors are opened, closed, and secured in correct sequence with all safeguards engaged
- Train, mentor, and develop Operations Technicians on procedures, safety expectations, and quality standards
- Troubleshoot equipment issues at the crew level; escalate to the Operations Superintendent as needed

Shift & Communication
- Monitor weather, wind, precipitation, and ambient conditions; communicate findings to client operations leads throughout the shift
- Enforce wind, temperature, and precipitation constraints; pause or modify operations when thresholds are exceeded
- Attend daily logistics briefings and align shift plans with the Operations Superintendent
- Conduct shift-start huddles, toolbox talks, and end-of-shift debriefs
- Coordinate shift handoffs with incoming/outgoing Operations Leads, including written turnover notes

Safety & Documentation
- Partner with the EHS Professional on hazard ID, near-miss reporting, and corrective actions
- Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are observed
- Inspect tarps, fasteners, fall protection, and door hardware before and during each shift
- Maintain shift logs, equipment-use records, and daily documentation
- Verify crew timekeeping accuracy and approve daily time entries

WHAT YOU BRING
Required:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 3+ years of field experience in industrial, construction, or material handling operations, including 1+ year in a lead, foreman, or comparable supervisory role
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
- Valid driver's license
- Strong communication, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills

Preferred:
- Authorized OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Trainer
- Competent Person designation (fall protection, confined space, and/or excavation)
- Forklift, telehandler, aerial lift, or rigging/signal person certification
- Prior experience with industrial tarping or access door operations

SHIFT AVAILABILITY (24/7 coverage — all 3 shifts hiring)
- 1st Shift (Day): 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 2nd Shift (Swing): 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM — differential pay applies
- 3rd Shift (Night): 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM — differential pay applies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift up to 50 lbs regularly (75 lbs occasionally); stand, walk, climb, and work at heights and in confined spaces with proper protection; work outdoors in all weather conditions; rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
