Position: Maintenance Planner / Inventory & Technical Purchasing Coordinator

Pay: $65-$75K salary

BTB is focusing on producing low-cost energy while also reducing carbon emissions. BTB is a partnership between Bio Town Ag, an Indiana multi-generational family farm, and Green Rock Energy Partners, a New York sustainable energy-focused private equity firm.


Maintenance Planner / Inventory & Technical Purchasing Coordinator

Position Summary

This role is responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance work, managing maintenance spare parts and inventory, and handling technical purchasing for maintenance-related materials and services. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically inclined, and experienced in coordinating between maintenance, operations, and suppliers to ensure equipment reliability and cost-effective procurement.

 

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance plans for equipment and facilities
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance work orders to optimize labor, materials, and equipment availability
  • Work closely with maintenance technicians, supervisors, and operations to minimize downtime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in the CMMS

 

Maintenance Inventory Management

  • Manage maintenance spare parts inventory to ensure critical parts availability
  • Establish min/max levels, reorder points, and cycle count procedures
  • Track inventory usage, identify obsolete or slow-moving items, and recommend adjustments
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of maintenance parts

 

Technical Purchasing & Vendor Management

  • Source, quote, and purchase of maintenance materials, spare parts, tools, and services
  • Work with vendors to obtain competitive pricing, lead times, and technical specifications
  • Maintain approved vendor lists and evaluate supplier performance

Coordinate with accounting and management to ensure purchasing compliance and budget control

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning, maintenance inventory, or technical purchasing (industrial environment preferred)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or industrial equipment and parts
  • Experience using a CMMS and inventory management systems
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and specifications

 

Preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, energy, or related industries
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) or preventive maintenance programs

 

Work Environment

  • Industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Collaboration with maintenance, operations, and management teams
  • Occasional after-hours or emergency support may be required

  • Salary exempt position paid weekly.
