DSOC Operator (Data Security Operations Center)

Position Summary

The DSOC (Data Security Operations Center) Operator is responsible for monitoring, protecting, and supporting the security and operational integrity of critical data center environments. This position plays a key role in maintaining security protocols, responding to incidents, monitoring access control systems, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, a background in data security, and prior supervisory experience in a security, operations, or data center environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Data Security Operations Center (DSOC) systems and data center activities 24/7 to identify and respond to security incidents.
  • Review, analyze, and document security events, alarms, and operational alerts.
  • Coordinate incident response activities and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Monitor access control systems, CCTV systems, and other security technologies.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation related to security events and operational activities.
  • Ensure compliance with physical and information security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections of security and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with data center personnel, security teams, vendors, and management to resolve issues effectively.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members during shifts and critical incidents.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and performance monitoring of DSOC staff.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts.
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in security operations, data center operations, or a related environment.
  • Experience working with security monitoring systems, access control platforms, and surveillance technologies.
  • Strong background in data security, information security, or physical security operations.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during critical situations.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience creating reports, tracking metrics, and maintaining documentation.
  • Familiarity with security management software and monitoring platforms.
  • Understanding of data center operations and security best practices.
  • Knowledge of access control, CCTV, incident management, and alarm monitoring systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data center experience.
  • Experience with incident response and security investigations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to information security.
