GEICO is looking for a customer-obsessed and results-oriented Product Manager to help drive the development of an enterprise semantic and ontology layer. This role will support product direction for a governed semantic and ontology layer that standardizes business metrics, models domain concepts, and enables trusted analytics across BI tools, data products, and AI-powered experiences.

The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of product management, data platform, analytics, and AI, and can translate complex business and technical requirements into intuitive platform capabilities that improve data trust, self-service analytics, and cross-data domain interoperability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help define and drive the product vision and roadmap for a semantic and ontology layer that supports self-service analytics, BI, and AI use cases.

  • Translate business needs into standardized metric definitions, semantic models, domain concepts, and relationships that can scale across enterprise data domains.

  • Partner with engineering, data architecture, and analytics teams to deliver governed semantic layer capabilities that improve consistency, trust, and usability of enterprise data.

  • Support natural language analytics and AI-powered data experiences by grounding user questions and AI agents in trusted semantic and ontology context.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and domain experts to validate metric definitions, align business terminology, and prioritize high-value use cases.

  • Define and track product success metrics including adoption, metric consistency, discoverability, self-service usage, and AI answer quality.

  • Drive adoption of semantic and ontology capabilities across BI tools, data products, analytics workflows, and AI-enabled experiences.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of product management experience building data, analytics, AI, or internal platform products.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, business metrics, semantic layers, BI concepts, or governed analytics experiences.

  • Experience translating complex business and technical requirements into clear product requirements, roadmaps, and user-focused capabilities.

  • Proven ability to work closely with engineering, data, analytics, governance, and business stakeholders on technically complex products.

  • Working knowledge of AI/ML and generative AI concepts, including LLM capabilities and limitations, natural language query, prompt design, evaluation, and responsible use of AI in governed data environments.

  • Experience using AI-powered tools to boost product management productivity and collaboration while adhering to data privacy, security, and governance requirements.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with semantic layers, metrics layers, headless BI, or governed analytics platforms.

  • Exposure to ontology modeling, knowledge graphs, or cross-domain data modeling.

  • Familiarity with data catalog, metadata management, lineage, or governance tools.

  • Familiarity with modern data platforms such as cloud data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, or enterprise BI tools.

  • Experience in regulated industries such as insurance or financial services.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field required.

  • MBA, MS, or equivalent experience preferred.
