You will make an impact by:

  • Providing leadership in managing, planning, and implementing the program in support of College and/or departmental goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes to meet placement expectations.
  • Participating in curriculum development and coordination, determines teaching assignments using a blended instructional approach combining face-to-face instruction with on-line instruction (as applicable), selection of faculty, and selection/coordination of program specific external facilities and instruction.
  • Providing professional leadership and support for teaching faculty; serves as a mentor and facilitator for faculty assigned; and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility.

Your Experience Includes:

  • Minimum of five (5) years (or equivalent), full-time, post Three (3) years of occupational (i.e. practical) experience in the subject field in which they teach; or
  • Four (4) years of occupational (i.e. practical) experience in the subject field in which they teach (if candidate does not meet the education requirement listed above).
  • Within the last five (5) years a minimum of three (3) years of operating room experience or teaching in the field, or a combination of the two prior to hire date.

Education:

  • Must be a graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the specialty field or the subject area in which they teach.
  • Evidence of continued education and training intended to maintain and enhance their professional knowledge of surgical technology instruction and administrative requirements as well as to promote necessary education, standards, and credentialing required in the surgical technology field (e.g., pursuit of advanced academic degrees and active participation in related state and national membership organizations).
  • Associate degree in the specialty field required
  • Baccalaureate degree in the healthcare field preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
  • Current CPR Card.
