Responsibilities

In this job, your purpose is to lead the strategy realization function, guiding a team that turns the department’s strategic priorities into a governed, sequenced, and executable portfolio of work. It aligns leaders and delivery partners around a shared direction, supports executive decision-making, and helps ensure strategic initiatives are delivered with clear accountability and measurable business value. You will be primarily responsible for:

  • Leading Team Collaboration: Leading a team to provide integrated governance, portfolio reporting, and decision-support capabilities that improve leadership visibility, strategic alignment, and execution across the portfolio
  • Leading Program Management and Governance: Establishing and overseeing governance for complex, cross-functional strategic programs and portfolio activities, including decision forums, escalation paths, and operating routines needed to support execution and strategic oversight
  • Managing Roadmaps and Execution Plans: Leading the development and integration of roadmaps, milestone plans, stage gates, and planning processes to sequence major initiatives, align dependencies, and maintain progress against strategic objectives
  • Driving Prioritization and Alignment: Partnering with senior leaders, enterprise partners, and initiative teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize future-state work, balancing strategic value, capacity, dependencies, and business-area priorities
  • Supporting Executive Decision-Making: Providing leadership and ensuring the team prepares executive-ready materials, dashboards, and strategic analyses to drive alignment on priorities, sequencing, risks, capacity constraints, investment tradeoffs, and critical decisions
  • Enabling Value Realization: Helping define objectives, scope, expected outcomes, KPIs, and decision criteria for strategic initiatives and using those measures to support portfolio direction and measurable business outcomes
  • Managing Risks and Key Decisions: Identifying strategic risks, issues, barriers, and key decisions; developing mitigation and escalation strategies; and facilitating the routing, documentation, and communication of business-critical decisions
  • Managing Research: Keeping abreast of macro and micro trends, competitive environment, business strategies, and external management practices to incorporate insights into strategic direction and plans
  • Leading Change Adoption and Communications: Leading overall change adoption and development of comprehensive communications for a broad audience ranging from senior executives to front line employees

 

Where you'll work: This is a hybrid position which allows you to spend some of your time working from home as well as some time working collaboratively in-office.  During the job training period you may have a higher percentage of time spent in-office to support your learning experience.  There is a 2 week a month minimum expectation in the office.

 

Hours of operation are continually evaluated and may change based on business need. Successful candidates are able and willing to work flexible work shifts and may be asked to work overtime and/or irregular hours.

 

This position may require travel via commercial transportation and driving motor vehicles to any location where the company does business. Business travel is required to perform the necessary job responsibilities.


Qualifications

Highly Preferred:

  • Ability to influence and collaborate well with business partners in Claims and supporting departments is an important skill
  • Strong Claims, Program/Project Management or Organizational Change/Communication skills
  • Ability to use data to inform recommendations and present professionally in both written and oral formats to various audiences, including executive leadership
  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degree (MBA) preferred
  • At least 6 years of experience in process/project management
  • At least 2 years of experience leading cross-functional teams within an organization
  • Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Project Management certification(s)

    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
