About the Role
The Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Apprentice position is a developmental role designed for individuals interested in manufacturing, production technology, and industrial operations. This program provides hands-on training, classroom instruction, and mentorship to prepare the apprentice for skill mastery, credential attainment, and long-term success in industrial manufacturing.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Assist in operating, monitoring, and maintaining manufacturing and production equipment
• Learn and apply basic mechanical, electrical, and process control principles
• Support continuous improvement activities to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate production documentation
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues under the direction of experienced technicians
• Participate in related technical instruction aligned with IMT apprenticeship standards
• Build competency toward becoming a fully qualified Industrial Manufacturing Technician
What We Are Looking For
• Strong interest in manufacturing, production, or industrial technologies
• Ability to follow direction, work independently, and collaborate in a team environment
• Solid communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
• Capability to perform physical tasks and work in varied environmental conditions
• Willingness to learn technical processes and complete required coursework/training
• Motivation to pursue recognized IMT credentials through the apprenticeship program
Conditions of Employment
• Successful candidates must complete post-offer physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and background check
• Commitment to completing required classroom instruction and on-the-job training hours
• Willingness to adhere to all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies
Work Environment
• Work occurs in active manufacturing settings with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, varying temperatures, elevated noise levels, dust, and other industrial conditions
• May involve standing for long periods, climbing, lifting, and working around production machinery
