Industrial Injection is looking for an Engine Painter & Final Inspection Technician to join our Richfield Reman Center. This is a hands-on production role responsible for preparing and painting completed diesel engines and performing the final inspection before engines are approved for shipment.

This position is a good fit for someone who takes pride in detailed work, enjoys working with engines and shop equipment, and understands the importance of quality before a finished product leaves the facility. You do not need to be a master painter, but you do need to be dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and willing to follow established procedures and quality standards.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare completed engines and components for painting by cleaning, degreasing, sanding, and masking.
  • Apply primer, paint, coatings, and related materials according to company standards.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for runs, missed areas, overspray, contamination, or other finish defects.
  • Perform final quality inspections of completed engines before shipment.
  • Use inspection checklists to verify cleanliness, appearance, workmanship, labeling, component completeness, and overall quality.
  • Identify and communicate defects, missing parts, damage, or quality concerns.
  • Work with engine builders and production leadership to resolve issues before engines are approved for shipment.
  • Assist with cleaning and preparing engine parts as needed.
  • Build wooden pallets, crates, or shipping boxes for completed engines.
  • Help secure engines and components to prevent movement or damage during shipment.
  • Follow all SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience in painting, surface preparation, production, automotive, diesel, manufacturing, final inspection, quality control, shipping preparation, or related hands-on work preferred.
  • Ability to clean, sand, mask, paint, inspect, and prepare finished products for shipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
  • Ability to follow checklists, work instructions, safety rules, and supervisor direction.
  • Ability to use hand tools, sanding tools, masking materials, paint equipment, and basic shop tools safely.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with engine builders, supervisors, and production team members.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on shop and production role. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, lift, move materials, use tools, and work around engines, paint materials, cleaning chemicals, compressed air, shop equipment, and industrial work areas.

The role may require lifting up to 75 pounds and using carts, pallet jacks, hoists, or other assistance for heavier or awkward items. Required PPE may include safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, protective clothing, and respiratory protection when required.
