Position: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), (0.5 FTE)

School: Partnership Academy

Salary: Competitive salary; Per 1.0 FTE Scale: $45,000-$85,000 depending on experience

Dates: 2026-2027 school year, and beyond

About: Partnership Academy is a public charter school located in Richfield. The school provides exceptional learning opportunities for students in preschool to 8th grade who live in Richfield and the neighboring communities of Bloomington and south Minneapolis. Function:  A speech-language pathologist (SLP) in a school setting supports students’ communication needs by assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. They work closely with teachers, families, and other specialists to help students develop effective communication skills, which are essential for academic success and social development. SLPs may provide direct therapy, consult on classroom strategies, and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs) to support students with speech and language challenges.


Qualifications:

  • PELSB/MN Department of Education Speech Language Pathologist License (Required)
  • Licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health as a Speech Pathologist (strongly preferred)
  • Spanish speaker (preferred but not required)
  • Experience working in a school or education setting (preferred but not required)


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect speech/language services to students eligible for special education, including those with stand-alone speech/language impairments or related service needs.
  • Assess and evaluate students through standardized tests, observations, screenings, and re-evaluations to determine eligibility, develop speech/language profiles, and guide evidence-based intervention. Prepare clear written evaluation reports outlining strengths, needs, and educational impact.
  • Plan and deliver individualized therapy, including lesson planning, goal implementation, data collection, progress monitoring, and caseload management.
  • Participate in and lead IEP and evaluation meetings, contributing to goal development, progress reporting, and service recommendations. Serve as case manager for students with primary speech/language impairments.
  • Assess, recommend, and support assistive technology/AAC, including trials, programming, material creation, collaboration with teachers and families, and ongoing maintenance aligned to IEP requirements.
  • Collaborate and consult with teachers, staff, and families, providing guidance, coaching, and training to support student communication needs and inclusive practices.
  • Document services and maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations, including billing requirements (MA billing), scheduling, and maintaining licensure/certifications.
  • Engage in professional development and other duties as assigned to support high-quality service delivery within a multidisciplinary team.
