Job Summary: The Value Analysis Analyst will be responsible for developing cost effective value analysis proposals to address non-formulary products (NFPs) and clinically important generic drugs (CGDs). The analyst will also work closely with the Drug Reimbursement Contracting Manager on new drug launches. In addition, this position will support other contracting related projects as assigned by management.  This role requires working knowledge of drug reimbursement, healthcare economics, managed care principles, and the pharmaceutical industry. This individual must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, have strong attention to detail, and demonstrate solid analytical skills in order to successfully interact with all levels within the organization and outside vendors/vendors’ representatives.  The ideal candidate would possess previous experience in managed care or pharmacy setting.

Job Responsibilities:
• Support the implementation of NFP/CGD programs through various stages including product selection, data collection, proposal development, approval processes, implementation and post-implementation monitoring.
• Assist in vendor contract negotiations for NFP/CGD products.
• Provide data analysis to support pricing strategies for specialty drugs.
• Conduct ad hoc studies and analyses regarding trends in drug utilization, rebates, AMP and WAC.
• Prepare correspondence, memorandums, presentations, and reports to effectively communicate results and recommendations.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Pharmacy, Finance, Operations, Vendor Relations, and Information Technology to ensure seamless integration of programs.
• Stay current on emerging issues impacting the pharmacy industry such as drug shortages, compounding legislation, etc.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or similar field preferred; equivalent experience required.
• Minimum two years of experience in pharmacy, insurance, managed care, or corporate environment preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Epicor and Medispan software.
• Experience with drug reimbursement and/or group purchasing highly desirable.
• Knowledge of retail and specialty pharmacy operations preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Ability to analyze data and identify key drivers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
