Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Analyzer Reliability Analyst through 04/22/2026 at 11:59 p.m. (PST).  

Inspects, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs instrumentation and control devices, including measurement sensors, analyzers, transmitters, signal transmission systems, control processors, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI),  final control elements, safety instrumented systems, process control networks, fire and gas systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS)/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and associated applications.  Identifies and implements reliability, integrity, economic, carbon reduction, and safety improvements for above systems.       

Supports major customers/clients and leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision.  Detailed knowledge of most aspects of the work function.

Use specific knowledge and expertise of process analyzers, analyzer sampling systems, and Chevron standards and recommended practices to ensure analyzer equipment is maintained, safe, and available. Support maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, provide root cause analysis, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Analyze surveillance and condition monitoring to identify analyzer repairs requirements. Detect and prevent failures through predictive and preventative techniques. Identify and correct repetitive failures with appropriate corrective actions. Maintain and improve analyzer equipment asset strategies. Create or revise PMs, job guidelines, and procedures for analyzer equipment and sampling systems. Develop and execute turnaround work scope for analyzer equipment. Ensure analyzer records are documented accurately through history briefs containing root cause identification and clear record of the repairs and failures. Support Reliability Engineering as a URB Core Team member and through sRCM, FMEA, and RCFA studies. Support Plant Support & Capital Projects from a Design for Reliability (DFR) perspective. Support growth of the analyzer craft through self-development, mentoring of technicians, and partnering with teammates.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in process analyzer reliability, maintenance, and/or engineering within a complex process industry environment (eg,, refining, petrochemical, chemical, LNG, power).
  • Strong working knowledge of analyzer systems with an emphasis on Gas Chromatography, Total Sulphur, Specific gravity, Moisture/Dew Point, Flash Point, Spectrophotometer, H2 & N2 Generators and Turbidity analyzers for onshore gas processing facilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment health by analyzing historian trends or performance data resulting in communicating actionable recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and collaborate across disciplines to drive safe, effective outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to emergent equipment issues, including periodic off-hours support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience developing or improving analyzer equipment asset strategies, preventive/predictive maintenance programs, and repair standards.
  • Experience supporting turnarounds, major maintenance events, or capital project execution/startups.
  • Vendor/shop quality assurance experience for analyzer systems.
  • Experience with reliability investigation methods (eg., RCA, defect elimination) and translating findings into sustainable corrective actions.

Special Considerations:

This role is not eligible for expatriate assignment. Global Offshore Payroll applicants must be able to use current US work authorization or otherwise able to obtain work authorization within 4 months of initiation of immigration activities.
