Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Structures and Bridge Design Group in Richmond, VA. This is a great opportunity to work on routine and complex structures including bridge, building, renewable energy and ancillary structure designs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Perform rehabilitation designs for bridges and buildings
  • Conduct bridge load ratings and evaluations
  • Support project planning including scope, schedule, and budget development
  • Assist in project and task management
  • Contribute to marketing efforts and proposal development

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in structural and/or bridge design
  • PE License is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, and NCDOT standards
  • Proficiency in structural design software
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD for plan development
  • NBIS bridge inspection certification is a plus

Compensation: Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $82,000-$90,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
