Wendel, an Esri Business Partner and multi‑disciplinary Architectural and Engineering firm, is seeking an experienced part‑time, provisional GIS Analyst for a short‑term engagement. The position will be based out of the Williamsville, New York office, with flexibility for candidates located near other Wendel office locations. This role is focused on ArcGIS Enterprise administration, spatial web services, and cloud-hosted GIS solutions supporting companywide projects across multiple disciplines. The analyst will collaborate directly with the GIS Manager, Developers, and Project Managers to deliver enterprise-level geospatial infrastructure and analyses.
Responsibilities:
- Administer ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal for ArcGIS, Data Store) within virtualized server environments
- Publish, manage, and maintain hosted feature layers through ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ensuring performance and availability of REST service endpoints.
- Build and maintain web mapping applications using ArcGIS Experience Builder, Web AppBuilder, etc.
- Convert and integrate GIS data to/from CAD formats and perform advanced spatial analysis (buffering, overlays, network analysis, distance calculations).
- Manage mobile field data collection workflows using ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123, including form design and data synchronization with enterprise hosted layers.
- Support the GIS Developer with SQL database administration to automate workflows
- Conduct client training on web applications, GPS collection, and enterprise GIS workflows for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. in Geography, GIS, or related field.
- 3+ years of professional GIS experience.
- Demonstrated ArcGIS Enterprise administration experience (Portal, Server, Data Store).
- Experience working with GIS infrastructure in virtualized server environments
- Proficient in Esri's full ArcGIS suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Enterprise Portal.
- Experience publishing and managing REST services (map, feature, image, and geoprocessing)
- Strong working knowledge of SDE geodatabases
- Proficient in Python scripting with ArcPy for automation of publishing workflows, data processing, and geodatabase management.
- Strong understanding of REST API architecture and experience troubleshooting service endpoints.
- Experience with coordinate systems, projections, and spatial reference management at an enterprise scale.
- Experience with mobile data collection platforms: ArcGIS Survey123 and ArcGIS Field Maps.
- Demonstrated ability to produce publication-quality maps, figures, and visuals for project deliverables.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and on a team.
Hourly Range: $36.05 - $59.13

The rate offered will be determined based off the successful candidates’ relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The rate offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
This is a part‑time, provisional position with a short‑term appointment. Hours and duration will be determined based on project scope and mutual agreement. Candidates with experience in ArcGIS Enterprise administration and virtual server environments are strongly encouraged to apply.
