This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting daily housekeeping operations while actively assisting with guest room cleaning and maintaining the exceptional standards expected of a luxury property. The ideal candidate leads by example, works collaboratively with the team, and is passionate about delivering outstanding cleanliness, presentation, and guest service. Key Requirements Availability: Must be available to work any day or evening of the week, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs. Experience: Several years of hospitality housekeeping experience required; supervisory experience in a full-service hotel strongly preferred. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and support a team while maintaining high departmental standards. Hands-On Role: This is an active working supervisor position that requires daily participation in guest room cleaning and housekeeping operations. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift in a physically demanding environment. Duties & Responsibilities Clean and service guest rooms daily to support operational coverage and maintain luxury-level standards Supervise housekeeping team members to ensure work is completed efficiently and with attention to detail Inspect guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance concerns Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to housekeeping staff Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and service needs Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to support seamless hotel operations Assist with inventory management and replenishment of housekeeping supplies Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment while following all hotel safety and sanitation procedures Support scheduling, daily reporting, and other operational tasks as assigned by department leadership Qualifications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to lead by example, in a fast-paced, service-driven environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to balance supervisory responsibilities with daily operational tasks Basic computer proficiency: familiarity with housekeeping systems and Microsoft Office is preferred Traits of a Successful Candidate Leads with professionalism, accountability, and a positive attitude Takes pride in cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction Reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented Strong work ethic with a willingness to support the team wherever needed Calm and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment Why Work Here At The Jefferson Hotel, Housekeeping plays a vital role in creating the elevated experience our guests expect from one of Richmond’s most iconic luxury properties.
