Position Overview:

Set-up mechanics are responsible for the assembly of new commercial equipment used in the golf, sports field and grounds industry. They play a critical role in upholding our reputation for exceeding our customers’ expectations. 


Key Responsibilities:

· Uncrate, assemble, and prep new and demo equipment according to manufacturer standards

· Perform initial inspections, including fluid checks, safety checks, and adjustments to hydraulic and electrical systems typical for a mechanic role

· Responsible for the cleanliness of finished products

· Performs minor adjustments and light equipment service, including but not limited to, oil changes, air filters, fuel filter replacement, simple blade sharpening common to diesel mechanic work

· Set up cutting units and adjusting height-of-cut 

· Minor reconditioning of used or lease returned equipment for resale

· Works with the Service Advisor and Shop Foreman to order parts as needed

· Responsible for maintaining accurate records for repairs, service work orders, inventory and tagging and identifying parts for warranty

· Responsible for maintaining personal tools, work area, shop and shop tools 

·  Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service area, following all safety regulations

· Operating forklift to move equipment between the shop and yard  


Requirements

  

Required Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Experience in a service repair, diesel mechanic shop is required

· Must have the ability to read and analyze documents and procedure manuals

· Must be able to routinely lift up to 75 pounds
