Clinical Abstraction Specialist - RNÂ - Work at Home
Job summary
The primary function for this position is to ensure timely collection, and communication of clinical data for chart abstracted measures, registries, accreditations and certifications as identified by the organization.
Essential functions
Responsible for abstraction, analysis, and submission of data to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, CMS conditions of participation, payor requirements, and medical staff bylaws.
Identifies and communicates patterns and trends of data and opportunities for improvement to site based teams and quality leaders.
Serves as a subject matter expert to site teams regarding individual measures and data definitions
Participates in data verification and validation to ensure accuracy, integrity and inter-rater reliability of all data elements
Participates in quality improvement activities that will promote patient safety and address opportunities identified in the abstraction, analysis or synthesis process
Participates in ongoing education to ensure application of current data definitions.
Provides clinical expertise for complex abstraction.

Education
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (required)
- Masters, Nursing /Healthcare Administration (preferred)
Required licensing and certifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) (required)
Experience
- 1 year of experience in an adult, acute care hospital setting (required)
- 1 year of hospital quality experience (preferred)

Minimum: $38.64
