The Senior Backend Developer - Software Engineer at Hyper Solutions plays a key role in designing, building, and scaling the software systems that power Hyper’s manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for developing and enhancing backend systems that enable engineering, operations, and service teams to manage manufacturing processes and data within a cohesive, high-performance web ecosystem.
This role contributes to the evolution of Hyper’s proprietary software platform, helping unify fragmented systems and drive efficiency across the organization. The Staff Software Engineer operates at a high level of ownership, influencing architecture decisions and ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
This position is well-suited for an experienced backend engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building modern distributed systems, and wants to have a direct impact on manufacturing and operational workflows.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend microservices using Node.js and TypeScriptÂ
- Build scalable APIs for internal tools and external system integrationsÂ
- Optimize database schemas, queries, and performance using PostgreSQLÂ
- Architect and evolve event-driven, asynchronous system componentsÂ
- Lead the modularization of systems into containerized microservicesÂ
- Ensure backend systems are reliable, secure, and scalable in production environmentsÂ
Additional Responsibilities
- Drive improvements in automated testing, code quality, and system reliabilityÂ
- Contribute to CI/CD processes and deployment pipelinesÂ
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and service teamsÂ
- Support integrations with third-party systems such as ERP and PLM platformsÂ
- Document system architecture, processes, and design decisionsÂ
- Contribute to ongoing enhancements of Hyper’s proprietary software platform
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience using Node.js and TypeScriptÂ
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, relational data modeling, and performance tuningÂ
- Experience building and scaling modular, distributed backend systemsÂ
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design, security, and reliabilityÂ
- Experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments (preferably AWS)Â
- Experience with CI/CD practices and automated testing frameworksÂ
- Experience building high-availability, scalable systemsÂ
- Strong communication and documentation skillsÂ
- Experience integrating with third-party systems such as ERP or PLM platformsÂ
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3, and LambdaÂ
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as TerraformÂ
- Experience working with ORMs such as TypeORMÂ
- Exposure to frontend technologies such as Vue.js and TailwindCSSÂ
- Experience with tools such as Puppeteer and JestÂ
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or operations-focused environmentsÂ

Compensation
The anticipated minimum hiring range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000 per year plus bonus. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include, but are not limited to, relevant experience, skills, certifications, and location. This hire will be eligible for a discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
